Hoth Stormtrooper Play-Doh Unpainted Hardcopy
What do you get when you mix Hoth Stormtrooper and Play-Doh? Snow-Doh of course and that's the nickname by which I've always referred to this prototype! This unpainted hardcopy is cast in a tan colored urethane referred to as carbalon. It surfaced and entered my collection way back in late 2000 and remains a personal favorite within my Hoth Stormtrooper character collection. As you can see, the hardcopy features detail on both the front and back. Kenner abandoned dual side mold detailing in the later sets like the "Jabba the Hutt" and "Wicket the Ewok" sets. The unpainted R2-D2 hardcopy shown here nicely illustrates the change to a flat, undetailed rear side.
