| Here is the most iconic vilain on the very first French (France) action figure toy packaging - a Meccano 12-back French 'Guerre des Etoiles' (Star Wars) card. The rectangular format used for the first batch of 12 figures was changed starting in 1979 to a square card format, as seen here and so each of the first 12 figures were reissued on a square card. The front of this 12-back card features a proof of purchase coupon to be cut. Sending 4 coupons to Meccano before the end of year 1978 would allow to receive the infamous Meccano diorama, which was the French equivalent of the Kenner early bird kit diorama. |
