Prototype Packaging

One person's junk is another person's treasure. This is probably what Kenner was thinking when they had this stuff laying around in stacks and ready for the dumpster. High-end collectors usually drool when they see items like these. Sheets of figure backing cards spanning the entire figure series are still in existence. Some of these uncut sheets have both sides printed while others to not. Unlike trading cards nowadays, these were never specially released for collectors. These sheets were Kenner proprietary samples and never intended to be salvaged. Other packaging prototypes feature boxes with variations of the logos we have all come to know. Some of these items are in a clip art state and was used for layout purposes. Everything helped play a role in making Star Wars one of the most successful toy lines ever. I think that it's uniqueness and individuality are what draws some of us to it.
