| 2-Piece Super Poster (Art of Space Battle & Characters) | |
| This large (over 66 inches long) two-sheet poster was available to German toy collectors in 1979. Of the commercial posters available during that era, it's among the more impressive. The airbrushed artwork has a flair that reminds me of the art that adorned custom vans.
The small print clearly identifies it as a General Mills product. Of course, General Mills was the parent company of Kenner. The spaceships may look familiar. The X-Wing and Darth Vader TIE Fighter are based on MPC's model kit representations of those vehicles; the regular TIE Fighter appears to be based on Kenner's action figure toy.
This magazine clipping shows this "Super-Poster" being advertised alongside the then newly released 20-back wave of action figures. |
