
| Luke Skywalker Unpainted 4-up Hardcopy (583-018) | |
| The prototype shown here represents an example of a
4-up used in the production process for Kenner's Micro
Collection line. The 4:1 size difference in comparison to its production counterpart makes it a visually appealing prototype as far
as displayability. This particular Luke Skywalker pose is designated by the unique product number 583-018. The first three digits indicate its
presence in the Death Star Escape playset,
while the last three indicate the particular character/pose. The material most commonly used in the creation of micro 4-ups, including the
example seen here, is referred to as dynacast, a green colored urethane.
Above we see the back of the 4-up. Notice that two 1:1 micros (unpainted and painted) provide a nice size comparison between the prototype and final production size. |
