It is rumored that Mos Espa plays an important role in the Star Wars prequels. The production stills I've seen so far seem to show a crowded, bustling spaceport.

It is hard to believe, looking at some of these photos, that the entire "city" is constructed out of little more than two by fours, chicken wire, and plaster. Gus is resting here from the brutal twin suns of Tatooine.

R2-D2 was seen roaming around the same parts of Mos Espa...

Even when we were actually there, on location, it was easy to believe one might suddenly see Anakin Skywalker dart out from one of the hidden doorways.

The day was overcast, and the wind blew a steady stream of sand over everything. The effect was quite otherworldly.
