Vendor
Toys are actually manufactured by specialized companies (generally Asian) and not the toy companies themselves. Any suppler such as this is also called a vendor. Toys are actually developed by the toy company but they are produced by a manufacturing firm and literally sold to the toy company for distribution. The toy company exercises quite a bit of control over the vendor, but it is the vendor that's generally in charge of producing molds and fine-tuning the processes involved in toy production. The toy company can
dictate the quality of the toys they expect to get from the vendor and they can have the vendor alter certain procedures in order to manufacture a toy properly.
