Meccano
Meccano was the French toy licensee for pretty much all of the vintage Star Wars years. They released a wide variety of toys, most of which were exact copies of those produced by Kenner for the U.S. market. Where figures are concerned, Meccano's most distinctive issues came on small, squarish cards; many collectors are familiar with the Jawa that came on this card, as it is quite commonly found on the secondary market. These square cards debuted as the Meccano 20-Back. The first Meccano 12-Back blister cards, however, were the same size as their American counterparts, but these are rarely seen. Meccano's ESB line of figures continued with the small, square cards, and again, these are quite rare. For their ROTJ line of figures, the company reverted back to the large, rectangular blister cards.
