Introduction

Hi, and welcome to the Star Wars Collectors Archive. This web page was created to serve as a virtual gallery of Star Wars collectibles from around the world, showcasing the rarest, coolest, weirdest, and most interesting Star Wars items all together in one place from many large collections. This page was made possible through the cooperation of many Star Wars collectors and serves as a place to display the key pieces of their collections.

If you're a new collector and want to get started in the fascinating world of Star Wars collecting, there are three publications which you should never miss. Every Star Wars collector should subscribe to Tomart's Action Figure Digest, which has a regular column on Star Wars collecting and Toy Shop, a biweekly publication with hundreds of ads containing old Star Wars collectibles. In fact, many of the items you see in this archive were once sold through Toy Shop. Finally, for a more fan-oriented approach to Star Wars collecting, subscribe to The Star Wars Collector, a bi-monthly fanzine which all sorts of interesting articles, tips, and checklists.

The idea for this archive arose from conversations with Star Wars collectors on the internet and hearing about interesting and unique collectibles they own. Since few of us have the time and expense to go traveling around to look at others' collections, this archive allows the highlights of some major collections to be viewed in one place.

In displaying these collectibles, we have chosen to avoid images of some of the more commonly available Star Wars items. For instance, despite it being an expensive collectible on the secondary market, there is no image of a 12-Back R2-D2, since it is possible to see such a picture in any Star Wars price guide. Rather, we have tried to find images of items that will make your jaw drop -- items that people seldom see.

We are constantly adding new images to this page, so after you've had a chance to explore, if you like what you see, then definitely check back often for more surprises. The What's New section displays recent additions to the page.

If you are interested in submitting images to the archive, press here. Image contributions do not have to exhibit rare or valuable collectibles, but should not be something readily found in a price guide, and we do require that you stick to photos that you have taken yourself and we will not accept copyrighted images, movies, or sounds from books, movies, or other copyrighted materials. All image contributions are acknowledged in the Contributors section.

If you enjoy looking through the Star Wars Collectors Archive, feel free to add links to this page. In fact, if you want to recommend the archive for web reviews, search engines, or "best of" lists, we would appreciate it tremendously. The more that people find out about this archive, the greater the likelihood that we'll continue finding images of interesting stuff.
