Kenner 38100 Display Bin and Header for Die-Cast Vehicle Assortment (1979)
This bin/header assembly was issued in 1979 as an update to the 1978 version, whose header card did not feature Darth Vader's TIE Fighter, a new entry to the die-cast line as of the later year.

In addition to the presence of the new spacecraft, the header differs from its predecessor in that it features slots for mounting it to the top of the bin; the earlier header, which lacked these slots, had to be glued or stapled to hold it in place. The descriptive text also changed from yellow to white.

It should be noted that this item wasn't a stand-alone merchandising aid; rather, it was integral to the manner in which Kenner shipped the die-cast vehicles to retailers, the product having shipped inside the ready-to-use display. A cardboard platform was also included, which fit on top of the floor of the bin, but this is missing from most examples.
