Kenner 69209 Demonstration Store Display for Electronic Battle Command Game | |
Among the rarest Kenner store displays issued in support of the Star Wars line, this demonstration display for the Electronic Battle Command game would have allowed shoppers to test the product before buying it. As the game is uniquely unlikable, this was perhaps one of the worst marketing decisions of all time.
According to Kenner documentation, 50 of these displays were produced in 1978, followed by 2000 in 1979. However, by July of 1979, none of the units had shipped despite over 1700 orders from retailers.
