Norway Crew Jacket (location crew version) | |
There are three styles of jackets/parkas used in Finse, Norway by the crew for The Empire Strikes Back: location crew version, executive version, and press version. These were based on ski jackets made by the company, Ski Peer, but were custom ordered from Fox Norway for the crew.
This is the regular crew version of the jacket. The distinctive features are a name plate (the other jacket versions did not have these) and three pockets in front with one upper pocket and two lower pockets. Some crew members continued to use these jackets after the filming and customize them, such as the Revenge of the Jedi patch added to Bill Welch’s jacket. Bill Welch was the Construction Manager in the Art Department for The Empire Strikes Back. Jim Bloom’s jacket, also pictured, has no alterations and contains the standard patches: nameplate, Norwegian Unit patch, Star Wars logo patch, and Empire Strikes Back Vader in Flames patch. Jim Bloom was the Associate Producer for The Empire Strikes Back. |
