Tooling Master Hardcopy for General Madine Action Figure | |
The construction of this General Madine hardcopy indicates that the figure was originally created in acetate by sculptor Bill Lemon.
Well, most of it was: The head was actually resculpted in wax. You can see the original sculpt here. The wax resculpt of the head can be seen here. This item was part of a substantial find of hardcopies representing the 65-back-wave figures. Believed to have been intended for use in the creation of tooling (i.e., the molds used for mass production), they are what prototype collectors refer to as tooling masters. As such, they are all complete and immaculately finished. |
