Original Wax Sculpts for Elements of Imperial Gunner Action Figure | |
When I was a child, and first saw Power of the Force action figures in the toy store, I was tickled to find the Imperial Gunner among them. I'd always been fascinated by the character as depicted in the movies and wanted an action figure representation of one. Well, the POTF line provided it.
I was even more tickled to acquire the wax elements of the figure seen above. As far as anyone knows, they're all the remains of the original sculpt of the entire action figure -- the one that would have been used to generate hardcopies, tooling, and finished production figures. It's especially nice that the head survived relatively unscathed. Gotta love that helmet. If you look closely at the feet, you may be able to see what remains of the parting line, the pencil-drawn indicator marking where the two parts of the mold that would eventually create plastic figures were intended to meet. |
