Tooling Master Hardcopy for Weequay Action Figure
Probably no one considers Weequay his favorite action figure. But when presented in hardcopy form, in which all of the figure's detailing can be adequately appreciated, it's hard to deny that it's a cool figure. I especially love the braids that drape over the figure's shoulder. They make great use of the inherent qualities of the PVC material. Because PVC becomes more flexible as it grows thinner, no secondary element was necessary for Kenner's designers to effect a sense of flowing hair. The braid is just an extension of the one-piece head. Ingenious!

Of course, the braids on this hardcopy aren't flexible at all. They are, in fact, quite fragile.

This item was part of a substantial find of hardcopies representing the 65-back-wave figures. Believed to have been intended for use in the creation of tooling (i.e., the molds used for mass production), they are what prototype collectors refer to as tooling masters. As such, they are all complete and immaculately finished.
