Acetate Sculpt for AT-AT Driver Action Figure | |
This is the original sculpted artwork for the AT-AT Driver action figure, carved from acetate material rather than the wax used for the majority of vintage Kenner action figures. Although wax is a more forgiving material for fixing errors or modifying elements, acetate yields a high level of sharp detail under the hands of an experienced craftsman. Ron Salvatore does a nice write-up on the process used by Bill Lemon, a longtime toy industry professional contracted by Kenner for several Star Wars figures. |
