Concept Model for Imperial Attack Base Playset | |
Here's something I'd never seen before collector Mark Huber shared an image of it: the conceptual model for the Imperial Attack Base playset. Released in 1980, the Attack Base was one of two Hoth-based playsets offered by Kenner during that year. The model appears to include all of the features familiar from the toy sold in stores. But if you compare it closely to the production version, you'll see it's entirely different.
To learn more about concept models, see our special feature devoted to the subject.
Unfortunately, this item is not currently known to exist. We know it only through its appearance on this slide. It's dated November 1979, a date which attests to the lead-in time required for the proper development of a toy. Thanks to Mark for sharing it! |
