| Here's the Rebel Commando action figure as retailed for the French market in 1983 before globalization of the Trilogos accross Europe.
Although they could seem identical, those are a good example of Meccano production during the short-lived Jedi era: Meccano had been using import sticker on vehicles since a few years back, but it was also mandatory (mean by regulations) to provide a clear origin of the toy - hence the stickers on Meccano ROTJ (and early french Trilogo) cardbacks to match the action figure origin sourced from the various vendors in Asia. Cardbacks printed with MACAU or HONG-KONG also have a slightly different coloration and printing quality, which can be seen a bit on that picture, it is quite obvious when comparing both cardbacks for a same character. |
