Wood Pattern for Star Wars Laser Pistol | |
This photo, taken within the Kenner model shop, shows the original wood pattern that was used to create the popular Laser Pistol toy. This would have been assembled entirely by hand from meticulously worked pieces of hard wood. It was a work of real craftsmanship.
Unfortunately, the majority of the patterns used to create vintage Star Wars toys did not survive. Luckily, we have photos like this one to remind us that they existed. An earlier stage in the production of this product, the handmade plastic model used to conceptualize it, can be seen here. |
