Takara Battery-Operated Toothbrush | |
This Japanese item combines two things towards which I feel warmly: the Kenner-designed battery-operated toothbrush, and Takara-branded Star Wars products. It looks more or less like the Kenner version, though, of course, its package replaces the English text with Japanese. But there's a more notable difference, one that affects the product itself. Specifically, the included toothbrush attachments are blue and red, whereas on the Kenner version they're blue and yellow. Presumably, in the mind of Takara's representatives, kids would get a kick out of imitating Darth Vader while brushing their teeth. I'm not so convinced of the wisdom of this decision. For some reason I associate the Dark Lord of the Sith with tooth decay rather than dental hygiene. But I suppose even the most evil among us have valid reasons for detesting cavities.
Here's the reverse. It features the same wacky comic that appears on the Kenner version. |
