X-Wing Aces Quality Control Sample
This item came from the same find as most of the QC carded figures that exist in collections. We're lucky that a former Kenner employee saved a lot of this stuff, even if some of it suffered significant water damage when his basement flooded.

Of course, X-Wing Aces is a rare item, even in regular production form. I'm not sure if that makes this QC version more or less special. Truth be told, I kept this one simply because my collection lacked an example of this toy, not because I attached any special significance to its place in the production process.

The above sign is affixed to the box with tape. I'm not entirely sure what it means. Why was the sample "out dated"? Is it possible that, by April 1978, Kenner had already stopped shipping this item? Maybe . . .
