Unlicensed Star Swirl Mug
Most bootleg ceramic products win your respect through their fidelity: while they may not look as nice as licensed goods, they still look fairly okay -- or at least better than most of us could come up with given some free time and some clay. Others are just amazingly bad -- and yet they win your respect anyway. Because who doesn't love amazingly bad Star Wars bootlegs?

This mug probably falls into the latter category. It's detailing is so bad that it's recognizable as a Star Wars item only by cross-referencing its components and ruling out other possibilities. The Leia alone might be mistaken for a member of the B-52s. l suppose her beehive hairdo is meant to reference the character as seen in the awards scene at the end of the first film? Chewbacca, on the other hand, looks a lot like General Zaius. And that's certainly the most Urkel-like C-3PO I've ever seen. Hey, come to think of it, C-3PO is kind of like the robot version of Steve Urkel.

Really, only the Vader is unmistakable as a reference to Star Wars -- unless you've seen Spaceballs, in which case you might mistake him for Dark Helmet.

As you can probably tell, the handle is formed out of a shooting star that whooshes over the surface of the mug -- a pretty cool bit of detailing. The bottom reveals it was created by Ralph and Peggy in 1979. Nice job, Ralph and Peggy. I mean that. Seriously.
