Unlicensed Darth Vader Ceramic Items
Darth Vader is probably the most recognizable character in the whole Star Wars saga. So it's no surprise that he was frequently memorialized in bootleg ceramic. Up top we have a lamp made from a cast of MPC's bust-of-Darth-Vader model kit. I think it's a one-off product, but the casting is of an unusually high quality, and the glaze has a nice metallic sheen. If I was more of a dork I'd put it in my living room.

The mug on the left is the only example of this form I've come across. It's detailing isn't very sharp, in part because the paint and glaze are very thickly applied. On the right is an object that I think was intended as a nightlight. The base holds a bulb, which shines through the hollow Vader head.

Another likely one-off, this Vader mug has a strong arts and crafts feel. The face looks almost Simpsons-esque. As you might be able to make out, on the side someone has scrawled "Star Wars Darth Vader." I'm not sure I'd risk drinking out of this thing, but it sure is fun to look at.

I bought this very odd piece of sculpture from someone in Long Island, New York. He said he'd found it at an estate sale. It's about two feet in height and composed of near-solid plaster. Of course, it weighs a ton. As you can see by looking at the photo of the reverse, it has a cape that's been modeled out of what seems to be cloth dipped in plaster. Someone put a lot of work into this thing.

How to explain the existence of this . . . this Dark Pork of the Sith? Might an ugnaught have fallen to the dark side?
