Unlicensed Ceramic Halo Mugs | |
I call this set of unlicensed mugs "halo mugs" because the character representations featured on them have little rays emanating from them. They sort of remind me of really, really ugly medieval icons. First up is Darth Vader. In addition to the characteristic halo, it features a couple of star details.
The C-3PO on this mug almost looks like he's wearing a tux. And check out those pecs. Maybe the "C" in "C-3PO" stands for "Chippendale"?
Like the Vader, the Chewie features some star details. Chewie's head is looking kind of swollen here, like he's been eating too many of those cookies that he carries around in his bag.
The R2-D2 is probably my favorite. There's just something really incongruous about the way the halo flatters the rather crude-looking droid. Ta dah! It's R2-D2! Check out our special feature on unlicensed ceramics here. |
