Unlicensed Ceramic Ewoks
As all Star Wars collectors know, licensed Ewoks products abounded in the years surrounding the release of Return of the Jedi. So I guess it's natural that some bootleg ceramic items were on the market as well. First up is this interestingly stylized little statue. It's about ten inches in height and looks almost like a totem pole.

On the cuter side are these two. Or are they on the creepier side? They definitely seem to be posing for a Diane Arbus photograph; just looking at them makes me feel like the Endor version of Shelley Duvall in The Shining. Reportedly, "yub nub" is Ewokese for "we'll stab you dead with our knives."

These two are a bit less disturbing. Though their styling seems related to the above pair, there are some notable differences. No knives, for one thing. Phew!

Lastly we have this large, rustic-looking bank showing what appears to be Wicket W. Warrick in the pose of a piece of classical statuary.

Intriguingly, it's signed on the base. Whoever "C. V." was, he was a pretty optimistic guy. Somehow I don't think his copyrighting his work held much legal weight with the folks at Lucasfilm.
