Boba Fett 41-Back (Survival Kit Offer) Carded QC Sample
Former Kenner sculptors, designers, and model makers are often revered by today's collectors and receive much of the glory, but what about the folks that made sure your toys met strict standards and arrived from the factories as Kenner intended? QC engineers made it happen! Let's not forget them! Carded QC samples, like this gorgeous Boba Fett, were pulled from production runs and inspected by, yep you guessed it, a QC engineer. Some samples features more extravagant labels while others, like the featured Boba Fett, featured small adhesive labels sized just right for recording the engineer's initials and inspection date. With action figures being manufactured simultaneously in multiple factories, it was important that Kenner ensure specific criteria like packaging quality and other criteria were met.

The above image shows a rear view of the carded QC figure.

This close-up affords a better view of the actual QC sticker, QC engineer initials (DPH), and the exact sign-off date of January, 20 1981.
