| This boxed Land Speeder is a Star Wars Kenner 1st release with LP logo as issued in the United States. But it also features a yellow sticker covering the original name with the French translation of 'aeroglisseur', this toy was in fact sold in France by French licensee Meccano. It differs of course from the printed Meccano box issued from the Palitoy one. It is unclear in which year this landspeeder was issued. Stickers application on Kenner or Palitoy boxed vehicles/playsets was a common practise to introduce new products before the local package was available as well as cover product shortage. This practise was generalized from Empire to Jedi bilogo toys, but very few Star Wars specimen are found this way. |
