| CLIPPER was the licensee for retailing Star Wars toys in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg during the vintage era.
Clipper made an intensive usage of imported toys from Palitoy and Kenner with special offers stickers added. This particular Chief Chirpa comes from a ROTJ Palitoy card with the standard black&white Clipper 'Premies' offer; But this item is more interesting because of its PBP '1 figuras gratis' stickers which were applied back and front to cover the Clipper stickers It is probably a good illustration of the emerging european recycling policy, this item probably ended up not being sold in Belgium and [rather than being set on clearance] was shipped to Spain for an ultimate try-out; |
