Y-Wing Fighter Tri-Logo Box
This item is a TRUE TRILOGO boxed Y-Wing Fighter; it is among, if not the MOST significant vintage production toy discovery for year 2009 as it is the first to surface and was not known of until May 2009.

During the ROTJ era, European country specific packaging (ie. Meccano, PBP...) were progressively abandonned for more uniformized packaging, which led to BILOGO and TRILOGO toys.

BILOGO and TRILOGO packaging are easy to spot: BILOGO generally comes with ROTJ logos French+Spanish on 1 side, English on the opposite side. TRILOGO comes with all three ROTJ logos cascaded on the same side (see pics below).

While most of the BILOGO vehicles are relatively easy to find, TRILOGO vehicles (especially re-issues) are a little more scarce, they were issued around the decline of the line, and so, produced in fewer quantities.

The BILOGO Y-Wing Fighter was a 1984 release, produced in large numbers so that it is still easy to find boxed nowadays; a Trilogo version was very unlikely to exist and so never referenced over the years.

Appart from its incredible rarity, what makes this packaging interesting is that it's an ALL NEW shot of the illustration, as shown on the close-up pics below.

The Bilogo box was using a pre-prod Y-Wing Fighter toy and the Kenner logo had been airbrushed on the box (Palitoy probably worked from a flat box, proof, or equivalent..)
The Trilogo box is composed of the production toy, and the action figures are also different (Lando with teeth, Madine without staff).

Finally, a picture of the "flap side" of the boxes, the Trilogo version is very similar to the other Trilogo boxes (ie. Ewok village, B-Wing, X-Wing...) with the white "made in UK" circle and the same very sturdy cardboard.
