Wax Sculpt for Ewoks Chief Chirpa
This is an original wax sculpt for the Ewoks Chief Chirpa figure. It's not the only sculpt for the figure, however. At some point in its development this figure was completely reworked and thus two different Chirpa sculpts exist.

The other known sculpt, viewable here, represents what must be an early attempt at the figure. I say early because no first shots of the earlier version appear to exist, which indicates that the sculpt you see on this page was the one chosen for the creation of tooling masters and production molds. You can see one of those first shots here.

Why did they rework the figure? Your guess is as good as mine. The two versions are very close to each other in appearance. The easiest way to tell them apart is to note the appearance of the eyelets in the figure's tunic. The earlier version has rings around the eyelets whereas the later one does not.

Fortunately, the figure's bag accessory has also survived. The pouch is sculpted in wax while the strap is made of some kind of urethane material.
