| This is a prototype for an electronic R2-D2 game designed by Parker Brothers and planned for release for Return of the Jedi. The piece consists of a painted hard copy with working electronics. R2's front panel opens up to expose the game board with lights and sounds, and amazingly, it still works after all these years. Note the date by the copyright: 1982. When the game board is in the down position, a hollow cavity is visible on R2-D2's chest, suggesting that it may have been intended for another component. This toy was never released in stores. |
