Luke Bespin Unpainted Hardcopy Torso & Leg Pair | |
Hardcopies remain one of the most appealing and elusive prototype stages for collectors who concern themselves with this segment of the hobby. Although
Star Wars era hardcopies drwarf ESB examples in term of rarity, ESB hardcopies are still extremely challenging to locate and expenive to procur. A
character like Luke Bespin is obviously quite desirable in prototype form as shown above. Cast in two different types of urethane, the hardcopy lacks
its head and arms. As someone who appreciates all things hardcopy, the missing head and appendages don't negatively impact the appeal of such a fine
specimen.
The second photo afford a view of the hardcopy's rear side. Luke's outfit detailing is much more discernible on an early prototype such as this in comparison to its production counterpart.
The third and final photo reveals the cylindrical metal dowel utilized to join the remaining limbs to the torso. Similar pins, if presesent, would also serve to attach the arms and head. A number of other noteworthy Luke Bespin prototypes are featured on the Star Wars Collectors Archive and may be viewed at the following links:
