| ESB French Sweepstakes Stickers | |
| This sweepstakes was advertised in the famous 80s' french child
magazine PIF Gadget (and possibly others) in July 1980.
The coupon shown here was included in that issue of the magazine and 2000 giveaways were announced. The First prize was a journey to California that included visiting a sci-fi movie during shooting. The 4 next prizes are said to be lifesize R2-D2 units that walks & plays ; I seriously doubt that any of these prize was ever won, except perhaps just the flight+hotels. Then, next 45 prizes were Death Star space game and 1950 coloring posters with pens. Everyone could enter the sweepstake by either using the coupon from the magazine or use a coupon available in the toy store. Only 3 basic questions had to be answered (finding names of characters depicted). 1- its black cape goes to the floor 2- he's the only guy to have blonde hair 3- she's the ice planet' princess
A complimentary sticker, among the 3 shown in the first photo of this entry, was given for each coupon deposit. Notice that the characters featured on the stickers matches the answers to the questions and that drawings are taken from the famous Berkey's art that served also as cover for SW novelization. |
