| Meccano ROTJ/Action Force 2-Sided Store Display | |
| This is a huge double-sided printed cardboard store display mobile/hanger, released by Meccano in 1984 for use at retail store to promote the Star Wars and Action Force (French early line for GI Joe 3" 3/4 action figures) toy lines. The Star Wars art is taken from a famous drawing from artist Berkey, unfortunatly for SW collectors, the Action Force side is much more appealing with a cool scene made with currently available toys. Notice the size of the Luke Skywalker action figure on the bottom right ! the display measures nearly 1 meter x 90 centimeters (roughly 40" x 35"). There are 2 holes on the top side to pass a string and hang the display. It is unclear how retailers could get the display as it is not featured in any retailer catalog nor order form, it was probably free as for example the Vader carded figure hanger. Anyway, this item has nothing to be ashamed from modern displays and it makes a terrific wall decoration for any Star Wars collectors ! |
