Meccano/ Lines Bros 1978 Ad-Plan | |
This document is a 2 page folding sheet introducing the Meccano &
Lines Bros Advertise campaign for the year of 1978, after a recent
merge between both companies. Lines Bros was a company more specialized into early age toys, one of
its most famous line was the bidibules (weezzles), its acquisition was
part of Meccano / GM extending policy.
On the 2nd page, we can see the Ad plan for the Six million dollar man (bionic) and Star Wars (la guerre des etoiles) lines. The SW ad plan highlights the main characters of the "most incredible sci-fi movie ever shot", an impressive collection of figures & spaceships, a press campaign in many child and grown-ups magazines totalizing 18 references.
The last page shows the Ad campaign on the year's calendar, with only press advertising set for star wars from february to june 1978. Also an interesting note: TV Ad plans can be found in some Meccano retailer catalogs, but it is very uncommon to find that in a separate material, as done by Kenner. |
