| During 1984, Miro-Meccano changed for General Mills Jeux & Jouets
(Games & Toys) as reflected in the nice 1985 GM Meccano French
retailer catalog seen here. This 1985 Media Ad-Plan is a great companion to the retailer catalog.
It's a small stapled leaflet that features advertising plans for the
major lines over the year 1985.
In addition to Star Wars Return of the Jedi & Ewoks lines, it also features major lines like Action Force (GI Joe), Starwberry shortcake. The page layout is arranged like a computer spreadsheet with events per media on the lines and months for the columns. The Star Wars part shown here features famous offers later found in many vintage Ads and Magazines (ie. PIF, Mickey...) like Mini-rigs, ESB videotape release, comic sweepstake, small catalogs. Also an interesting note: TV Ad plans can be found in some earlier Meccano retailer catalogs, but it is very uncommon to find that in a separate material, as done by Kenner. |
