The Yoda prototype shown above, an unpainted hardcopy, heralds from Kenner's Play-Doh Yoda Play Set. Cast in a tan urethane, the hardcopy was likely created from the exact same Yoda silicone mold seen here.
Notice that a pour stem is still present and protruding from the hardcopy bottom. This protrusion corresponds to the location of the gate, an opening where liquid urethane enters the inner cavity, of the silicone mold. A number of Play-Doh unpainted hardcopies, including this Yoda, surfaced from an ex-Kenner employee in February, 2006. |
