Revenge of the Jedi Chief Chirpa Mock-up Proof Card
Revenge of the Jedi proof cards played a role in the creation of the card front layouts for the new characters on the 65-Back cards. Apparently the proof cards used were selected based on the color and size of the background area where the action figure would be placed. In this example, the new Chief Chirpa card was planned to have a pink background (like the original Power Droid), so a Revenge Power Droid proof card was used for this mock-up. Black and white elements were glued to the proof card and Chief Chirpa’s name was applied over the Power Droid nameplate. On the back of the card, a white hand-written sticker was applied that reads "Power Droid Original", probably for subsequent identification since it’s difficult to tell which proof card was used with the picture and name obscured. It is uncertain exactly why Kenner ultimately decided to change the pink figure area background color to green. The green color certainly fits better given the character's presence on Endor, so perhaps that played into the ultimate decision.

This mock-up is simply one of the many fine prototype items in Mattias' collection tied to his Chief Chirpa character focus. Additionally, Mattias seeks out complimentary Endor character prototypes to provide additional variety to his collection.
