| Space Battle Display Stand | |
| This space battle display stand was a mail away offer from Meccano in 1978. The offer was only available on the original 12-Back Meccano carded figures. These figure cards were the same size as the ones released in the USA and most of the rest of the world. France quickly changed the card size to their more familiar square cards. On the front upper left corner of the French 12-Back was a numbered proof-of-purchase (Luke was #1, Leia #2, etc) that could be cut off and mailed in for the display stand. You had to mail in a Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and any other two proofs. The offer ended December 31, 1978. The toy has a remarkable resemblance to the Early Bird display stand offered by Kenner in 1977. Unlike the Early Bird stand, this one has no foot pegs for the figures. |
