Bespin Freeze Chamber First Shot | |
The playset prototype shown above is a first shot of the Bespin Freeze Chamber from Kenner's Micro Collection line. Although some molding variations exist between the first shot and the production toy, the most notable difference involves the decals. The first shot exhibits thick, hand cut, hand applied (with glue) labels, which differ in various aspects from the production decals. Josh has spoken with various experts in the field of Micro Collection toys/prototypes, who believe this piece likely served as a presentation sample. As one can see, Josh has hired a small band of renegade unpainted Bespin Freeze Chamber Micro figures to guard this treasure. Hopefully the figures only charge a "micro" salary for their services!
The above photo shows the first shot (right) next to a production quality toy (left).
The final three photos afford close-up views throughout various regions of the playset. The difference in label thickness and coloration is quite evident in these comparison shots. Again, the first shot is shown on the right in each of the comparison photos. |
