| Pictured here is the R2-D2 figure packed onto a French 'La guerre des �toiles' 20-back square card. This packaging was used in France on the same card format from 1979 to 1982, unlike some other countries, Meccano kept releasing Star Wars characters on Star Wars (GDE) square cards even during the Empire line. The regular R2D2 is part of the few figures among the SW wave which were issued by French Meccano licensee only on 12 and 20-back cards, it was not reissued on later ESB or ROTJ cards (except of course in Sensorscope). |
