General Madine Bagged Production Sample
Many of the vendors for Kenner's production line were located in the Orient; thousands of miles from Ohio and also a language barrier inbetween, signed sample pieces like this acted as a back-and-forth piece that could be sent to insure that the figures were being properly produced and finished.

This piece is a complete, production-quality figure in a sealed Kenner bag. The vendor in this case (Smile, an industrial plastic molding company) attached the figure to its quality control card. Along with general information about the toy, comments were included by the engineers involved, in this case requests for the brown color to be darker and the "brush strength must be improved." Its impossible to tell from the card whether the date is from January or September; this piece could have been one of the first off the factory lines in Macao or a regular piece taken off to be examined for quality control.
