| The "kneeling and firing" pose Hoth Stormtrooper was offered as part of the
"Build Your Armies" mail-away
set, which featured three different Hoth Stormtroopers along with three different Rebel Soldiers. The
prototype shown in this entry is referred to as an unpainted 4-up
hardcopy, meaning it is four times as large as its production counterpart.
The photo shown above affords a rear view of the 4-up along with a production size Micro figure for size comparison.
I've been able to assemble a sizable pre-production series for this Hoth Stormtrooper pose over the years which includes: unpainted 4-up, painted 4-up, unpainted squeezing, painted squeezing, gold 1:1 micro, unpainted 1:1 micro, and hand painted 1:1 micro.
The final image shows a rear view of the pre-production series. Sadly the original wax sculpting and silicone mold have not surfaced as of 2005, leaving two major holes in this series. |
