R2-D2 First Shot
The R2-D2 first shot shown here differs in various ways from its production quality counterpart. The first and foremost distinguishing characteristic is the absence of copyright information. The paint on the dome differs in thickness and the blue is slightly darker in coloration.

This photo conveys the number, "14 A", written on the right foot bottom. Late figure samples such as this undergo assessment to ensure the steel molds function properly. The number likely denotes its place in a batch of R2-D2 figures used for various testing.

Prototypes of the original 12 figures in any pre-production stage are highly appreciated by collectors due to their significance and rarity. This R2-D2 certainly fits the bill on both accounts.
