Unproduced Plush Dewback | |
The unproduced plush Dewback seen here is one of two examples that were constructed in 1995. The size is comparable to the
Dewback produced as a part of the modern 12" figure line. Although the body is plush, the hand painted plastic head was
created using a roto-cast mold. This process results in a hollow, pliable, plastic product. The plush contains puppet-like
features since a hand may be inserted into the bottom to maneuver the head.
This close-up shot of the Dewback's back illustrates the saddle area. The cloth portion behind the saddle is hand-sewn. This photo also affords a nice glimpse of the textured skin presence found on the plush. Astute collectors may recall the existence of matching conceptual artwork first presented in a past issue of Action Figure Digest (AFD). |
