Empire Strikes Back Kenner Action Figure Articulator Concept | |
This unique piece was conceived and hand made by a Kenner engineer as a possible extension to the action figure line. The piece is made of styrene plastic with formed plastic tubing and monofilament line. The four finger spring-loaded controls work each appendage and the thumb slide makes the head rotate.
The idea was for a child to be able to make his figure walk and move. The black cloth sleeve was included to "hide" the mechanism and the hand. It's an ingenious idea, but didn't go far as it would have required retooling the action figures to fit this concept. This is the only model ever made. |
