Origins of the Lucky Charms/Trix Star Wars Hang Glider (Series 3) | |
The Star Wars Vehicle hang glider premiums were offered on boxes of Lucky Charms and Trix in 1978. The premium consisted of one of four vehicles (Landspeeder, Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing) that are folded into a cardboard mobile that slides along a string as it glides down. The premium originated as a Lucky Charms Hang Glider in 1976 with three patriotic styles: Stars and Stripes, Eagle, and Red/White/Blue Racer. The concept was then reused a couple of years later as General Mills obtained the first Star Wars cereal license in the US. |
