| Originally slated as a UK Forbidden Planet exclusive bust variant, the limited
edition chrome Stormtrooper briefly made an appearance through the official Star Wars Shop,
http://www.starwarsshop.com, online store. Calling this
bust a United Kingdom exclusive, as the packaging indicates, is somewhat debatable given its US availability through the above avenue.
The entire run consists of 2500 pieces, making availability extremely limited.
The above photo shows a photo of the bust's base. Each bust is individually hand numbered on the bottom. This example is #1163 of 2500. The chrome Stormtrooper follows in the footsteps of two earlier "chrome" busts, Darth Vader & Jango Fett, offered through the MBNA Galactic Rewards program. Both earlier chrome busts also surfaced for short periods of time at the Star Wars Shop website, enabling collectors who don't carry Star Wars MBNA credit cards to add the coveted busts to their Gentle Giant collections.
The final photo illustrates the packaging for the bust. No differences in the bust itself or the packaging exist between examples purchased directly from Forbidden Planet and those offered through Star Wars Shop. |
