Kenner Sh#t Happens T-Shirt | |
Although this item isn't from the Star Wars era, it's definitely an interesting collectible to anyone interested in internal Kenner items. The theme of the shirt is the late '80s takeover of Kenner and Parker Bros. by Tonka. Hence the huge Tonka truck running over the words "Kenner" and "Parker" in the pavement. Also, the Kenner/Parker mascots, the Playdoh boy and the Monopoly man, are hanging onto the truck for dear life, while the Kenner logo of the early '70s period, the goony bird, has already been plastered across the grill. Sharp observers will also notice the license plate, which reads "I8KPT" (I ate Kenner-Parker Toys).
Apparently, a Kenner employee of the time had these made up as a gag of sorts and sold them to his co-workers. It's a pretty interesting collectible. |
