EV-9D9 2-up Painted Hardcopy | |
The EV-9D9 hardcopy seen above is one of
the most impressive action figure hardcopies I've ever had the pleasure of viewing.
Although it isn't readily apparent from the front photo as there is nothing present to gauge
the scale, this hardcopy is actually 2 times larger than the production figure. The term 2-up is
used to decribe the hardcopy since it is cast at a 2:1 ratio. 8D8
and EV-9D9 represent the only two
figures for the vintage 3 3/4" action figures sculpted at this ratio. The rest of the
figures were sculpted at a 1:1 ratio meaning they were in scale with their production counterparts.
The photo above affords a rear glance of the painted hardcopy torso. As one can see, the limbs are fully removable. This is always the case at the hardcopy stage provided the limbs and head haven't been glued in place. The hand holding the torso gives a nice feel for the large size of this hardcopy. The metal dowels used for limb and head attachment to the torso are quite massive on a hardcopy of this size. |
